Hello reader and fellow potential newsletter writer. I too am wondering whether or not I should write a newsletter.

This post is going to be a quick set of bullets on newsletters. I would like to write more on this subject, but because I myself am very new to this, I’ve opted to leave you with some quick thoughts on some simple questions. I will come back to this subject at a later date, but for today, here you are.

Who should start a newsletter?

• Are you a business/ have any intention on having a business owning component to your life?
• Are you a writer who would like to regularly publish?
• Are you a creative who would like to keep people up to date, but maybe not be exclusively stuck in social media land?
• Do you just want to do it? (While I don’t fully understand this one, if you want to do it, do it. I’m not your dad. Go wild)

Formats…

• Is this format repeatable? Would you enjoy making this format at least a dozen times?
• Are you reading any newsletters? What do you like about them?
• How long is this? How can you simplify it.

Consistency and mailing list

• Set up a limited number of on the first batch of newsletters. Think of it as a contract/project , and not as a burden.
• I would recommend using Mail chimp, but use whatever you’d like.
