Songs I like this week!

This week was a pretty light listening week. A fair amount of my music came from the noir playlist on Spotify. It’s my go-to while getting ready for work, but I HAD to celebrate Silk Sonic. Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak just made something so special.

Is there something in the movies – Samia

This song is a gorgeous case study on vocal delivery and the beauty of grand gestures in that delivery. I don’t want to sound pretensious or like this is some sort of fodder for academic voice study, I just really like it and it makes me want to sing for hours. What a good song.

Vacation – florist

I was first introduced to florist by the NPR tiny desk concert, and it’s one of those bands I keep going back to because they have this almost monopoly on a specific feeling of summer camp ennui.

Smoking out the window – Silk Sonic

I love that Silk Sonic has become the unofficial new parliament. The production is splendid, the lyrics are funny. I keep putting on the album, and it’s all so good.
