How to post Covers to youtube! (video)

Hello,

Today I posted a video on my youtube channel about how to post a youtube cover directly from your phone. I feel like it’s an intensely empowering tool that I’ve been blessed with and wanted to make a video to highlight just how easy it is.

I’m posting this video to practice making videos, to complete an assignment for class, and also to open myself up for critiques from people on youtube.

In Christine Wolf’s essay on DIY videos on youtube she writes

“Many participants described a “you can just tell” heuristic when evaluating the credibility of videos. One participant described sometimes encountering funny, prank, or viral videos, which can easily be dismissed as irrelevant: “Sometimes you don’t find helpful things on [YouTube] … Maybe situations, where you’re searching for the terms and things, come up with and they ended up blowing up the water heater or something. That’s more of a funny thing.” (P4)”

Viewers use general feelings they have about a person to establish trust. It’s all an energy of sorts/ a series of subconscious indicators of comfort and ease. While this is accurately described as a heuristic (a mental shortcut), it has real consequences. It also makes sense that this comfort and ease is less an indicator of one’s comfort/ preparedness for a select subject, and can actually be boiled down to things completely out of the scope of the creation.
