This is an EP that I made as my Capstone project for a minor in Gender and Media at Rutgers University. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s essentially a final project to prove that I understood key concepts of the minor, and could apply it in some capacity. To prove my understanding, I had to do a presentation on this work, and received comments and critiques on it from a group of peers; but most importantly it’s something that I enjoyed making a great deal.

The intent behind this project was to be able to show that I could take the concepts of speeches and presentations done by Feminists who I was reading and speaking about in class on a regular basis, and create a peice of dirrivative content that could help the listener further listen to/absorb the concepts of those original audio clips I sampled. It was about creating music that could further amplify the voices of these authors and activist.
But all of that being said, I did not feel comfortable posting and sharing this work with a wider audience then a few friends after its completion. I have not received permission from the authors and activists that I sampled from, and because of this I am actively not selling this work, and rejecting any money that would be given to me in relation to this work. This project was done with the intention of educating others about the ideas of the feminist I sampled and it was meant to be an aid in their absorbtion and retention.
Now I feel a little bit more comfortable sharing the work with those who would be interested in hearing it. But I’m still not going to actively promote this. There will be a link to the EP at the end of this post, but know that it could go away at any point.
If any of these people/ parties associated with those who are sampled in the project were to reach out to me and ask me to take it down, I absolutely will.
